me pt.1

part 1 of getting to know me a little better, here comes a summary of 2010 and 2011 (so far).

October 2009 - May 2010.

I was working in the Cardiff,  Wales as a Foreign Language Assistant. A work experience needed for my study in Germany as I wanted to become a highschool teacher for English and History. A lot of fun times, a time for self-discovery and renewal.

June 2010.

Coming back to Germany, into old routines was hard and needed to be changed. I went back to University, to my old job (which I loved) and into my old apartment. 

First thing I tried to change was my living situation, I was living with my ex-boyfriend and his best friend. But finding an apartment that is affordable in a city like Munich is hard. It took me until September to find a new place.

July 2010.

My parents came to visit, first time seeing them after my short visit back home in April. 

And then came July 17th, the day that changed my life... I was talking to this guy on the Internet for a week, when he decided to visit me over the weekend for a sightseeing tour of my city. Before we knew we were head over heels in love and started "long"distance relationship.

August 2010.

Mostly spent together at the weekends and nearly 2 weeks together for his leave, with a weekendholiday in a resort.

September 2010.

Finally found an apartment and moved in.

On September 25th he proposed to me, having his departure in November on his and my mind. Of course I said "YES!"

October 2010.

He moved in with me for his last 4 weeks in Germany.

November 2010.

This month started of bad... with his departure on November 1st. Never felt so miserable and alone. Hoping to see each other over Christmas and New Years.

December 2010.

Not much happened this month. I spent Christmas with my family because no one of us could afford the flight to see each other.

January 2011.

Finally I was able to book my ticket!!!

February 2011.

I had my exams at university. I failed my history midterms and finally decided to give up my 2nd study. As much as I loved my job at a private school, tutoring and counseling kids I knew that university wasn´t the right place for me anymore.

March & April 2011.

I finally was in his arms again, ready to never leave again. Because of some bureaucracy and legal issues we decided that it was easier for me to go back to Germany and to file for my visa. 

June/July 2011.

I dropped out of university and quit my job, to move back to my hometown and to prepare filing for the visa.

August 2011.

I booked tickets for another stay with him. Found a new job at my hometown.

September 2011.

Still settling in at home and in the new job.

October 2011.

On October 3rd I flew back home to Austin. On October 21st our dog Freya gave birth to 4 cute puppies.

On October 31st we got married. 

Because I am here to stay. 

November 2011.

So far I am doing the hauswife.thing. And feeling happy and at home and complete. Waiting for our marriage certificate to start all the paper work that has to be done to get me a greencard and a work allowance.

I am looking forward to celebrate my first thanksgiving with my little family.
